The age old saying goes ‘time flies when you’re having fun’ and no truer words could be said as this week has flown by. We have been on the road and in the air with Lari Basilio, starting off in London back on Monday with a collection from Heathrow. Tired heads needed gentle rest so roll-on Tuesday and the first night of the GuitarGuitar clinic tour at GuitarGuitar Epsom.
Each night was a sell-out and an eager crowd waited patiently outside, upon getting in, there was a buzz in the air about the evening, with Lari’s Ibanez LB1 signature in fine display at the show on the wall behind her. The clinic got under way and there were an abundance of questions from fans and following some of the best live music you can find, a meet and greet ensued and there was a chance for everyone to get a photo with Lari, have a chat and buy some merchandise too, what a great first night!
On to Camden on Wednesday and a place Lari had never explored before, so before checking in with the good people at GuitarGuitar Camden, she had a look around the famous stable markets before heading over the the store for a soundcheck.
Arriving there were already some people waiting to see her, she got a soundcheck sorted and by the time the doors were opened there was a queue halfway down the street, absolute scenes!
Great interactions and brilliant questions all round, a lot of people buying her new album ‘Your Love’ and getting it signed while they were there too. One chap had travelled down from Birmingham just for the clinic, now THAT is commitment to your favourite artist!
The team were amazing and helped in every way possible, and fellow Laney artist Alex Hutchings came along too, the first time he had met Lari, surely there is a collaboration in there somewhere, we hope so! What an evening!
An early start on Thursday meant getting Lari to the airport to fly up to Glasgow ready for the GuitarGuitar Glasgow clinic, long days with some added jet-lag didn’t deter her though and into the Glasgow store she went, meeting the team and their impressive (and huge) store!
Another huge queue ready for the event, upon entrance the store floor was filled with people which included Laney artist Jenny Clifford, always nice to see a friendly face!
A great team and a brilliant city, but one extra special mention to one fan who bought an LB1 after the clinic, so there was a crowd of happy customers and one very delighted fan walking home with an incredible instrument from an incredible artist!
One last stop and a hop, skip and a jump over to Edinburgh, with a quick stop at the forth to have a look at the incredible Scottish scenery before heading to the last and final show of the UK leg of the clinic tour. GuitarGuitar Edinburgh absolutely did not disappoint, once again, another queue down the street and a rammed shop floor with fans a-plenty, a Lionheart L20T-212, a pedalboard with some Black Country Customs pedals on (Secret Path, Spiral Array and The Difference Engine) and a clinic ready to take the roof off!
The round up and send off has to be the incredible turnout and the amazing fans across England and Scotland. A great bunch of people and all of us at Laney are super proud that we can call everyone at GuitarGuitar (staff and customers) a part of our family!
Lari is now off to Portugal to start the European leg of the tour and visit some countries she has never been before and meet a whole load of people who are eager to meet her and hear her subliminal playing!
