Dom‘s journey with Duran Duran began in 2004 when he stepped in as a stand-in for lead guitarist Andy Taylor. His undeniable skill and chemistry with the band led to him becoming the full-time lead guitarist in 2006. Over the past 18 years, Dom has been an integral part of Duran Duran’s continued success, contributing to four world tours and three albums. His songwriting prowess shines through in over 20 songs he co-wrote for their last two albums, “All You Need Is Now” (2011) and “Paper Gods” (2015).
2022 was a banner year for Duran Duran, with Dom playing a crucial role in their high-profile performances. From headlining Hyde Park in London to a crowd of 70,000, to sold-out shows at The Hollywood Bowl and Madison Square Garden, Dom’s guitar work has been front and centre . The band also graced stages at prestigious events such as the Queen’s Platinum Jubilee, The Commonwealth Games opening ceremony, and their induction into The Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.
Dom has recently integrated the Laney LFR-412 into his touring rig with Duran Duran. Here’s what he has to say about it:
“I’ve been using the Laney LFR-412s on stage with Duran Duran the last few months. They are extremely transparent and don’t colour the sound so I can achieve the same tones as if playing my Kemper through my ATC studio monitors. A great addition to my touring rig and I highly recommend them.”
The Laney LFR-412, designed in collaboration with the incredible Devin Townsend, is a game-changer in the world of guitar cabinets. As the world’s first FRFR (Full Range, Flat Response) 4×12 cabinet, it sets a new standard in guitar sound reproduction.
The LFR-412 is perfect for larger venues, offering unmatched clarity and power without the need to compete with the rest of the band. It ensures that every nuance of your digital guitar setup is faithfully and powerfully reproduced.
Dom Brown’s choice of the Laney LFR-412 for Duran Duran’s high-profile performances speaks volumes about its quality and versatility. His extensive experience in studios and on stages around the world makes him an ideal ambassador for Laney’s cutting-edge technology.
We’re excited to have Dom on board and can’t wait to see (and hear) what this partnership will bring to stages worldwide. Welcome to the Laney family, Dom!
Stay tuned for more updates on Dom’s adventures with Laney gear, and be sure to catch him on tour with Duran Duran to experience the power of the LFR-412 in action!
