There’s one thing to say about Malevolence, they know how to do it right. Turning up to the venue and behold; a tour bus wrapped in custom Malevolence decals, a sight to behold, the impressive show doesn’t end there, walking into the venue and you see the Laney Ironheart stacks with their custom grille cloths and a huge lighting setup that really does take you back.
Just after soundcheck we take Josh and Kon to check out the new Laney Ironheart Foundry ‘Loud Rig’ which consists of the Ironheart Foundry Dual Top and the matching GS212FE. Starting with the clean channel, moving to Channel 1’s gain stage and then to Channel 2’s gain stage and showcasing to Josh and Kon how they work and the differences between the two, and then of course the glorious built-in Boost and Reverb.
You can watch their initial impressions and their reactions to first playing the Ironheart Loud Rig over on our YouTube channel, full video is below:
9pm rolls around and it is showtime. The house is full, the crowd are thirsty for riffs and the intro music is playing… IT IS TIME.
Malevolence take to the stage, kicking off the night with the tour name sake ‘Malicious Intent’ followed closely by ‘Life Sentence’ and ‘Waste Of Myself’, the place is buzzing, limbs flying everywhere, crowd surfing starts immediately, heads are banging and hands are raised into fists and devil horns alike. This is Malevolence’s time, and we are witness to their rise to the crown that is British Heavy Metal Kings.
Fan favourites ring out through the set including:

Then as if the night couldn’t get any greater a medley of riffs to commemorate the 10 year anniversary of Reign Of Supremacy, received by the crowd with an eruption of applause, singing and head banging.
The night is drawing to an end and to wrap things up, an encore of the big numbers:
Keep Your Distance followed by the incredible On Broken Glass rounds out the night and the show with the roof thoroughly blown off.
Malevolence are the present and the future of British Heavy Metal, 2024 and beyond as far as we are concerned is theirs.
